# Therapy for Men

[Home](/)/ Therapy for Men

## Therapy built for how men actually show up

Most men were never taught how to name what's going on inside. They were only taught how to push through it. Therapy for Men at FrankTalk is a straightforward, confidential space to slow down and work on what's actually running the show: stress, anxiety, low mood, anger, relationship friction, work pressure, grief, identity, and the quiet stuff that never quite gets said out loud.

This isn't about being "fixed." It's about getting honest, building better tools, and making real changes that hold up outside the session. Paul has spent 20+ years working almost exclusively with men and knows how to meet you where you are, without judgment, without jargon, and without wasting your time.

Sessions are goal-oriented and practical. We look at your history, your relationships, your patterns, and what a better version of your day-to-day would actually look like, and then we build toward it.

### Anxiety & Stress

Chronic tension, racing thoughts, insomnia, and the pressure to hold it all together. We work on both the patterns and the practical tools.

Men land on this page from very different places. Some want a room to keep coming back to. Others want one expert opinion and a plan they can carry out themselves. Answer three questions and see which one your situation points to.

Beginning Therapy

## From first message to first session

Most men take longer deciding to write than the whole process below takes. Here is exactly what it involves.

Step One Get in touch

Send a note through the contact page and tell me briefly what is going on. You do not need to have the words for it yet. I read every message myself.

[Contact FrankTalk Therapy](/contact)

Step Two We find a time

I will come back to you with times that work. Sessions are 50 minutes.

Step Three Paperwork, sent to you privately

Before your first session I will send the client agreement and registration forms to you directly, through a secure system. They are deliberately not on this website, because your date of birth, your address and your history should not travel through a public web page.

Step Four Payment

Payment is collected at the time of booking. Payment may be made via Zelle, Google Pay, or Venmo.

If you are experiencing financial hardship we can add a limited sliding scale. [Contact FrankTalk Therapy](/contact) for more information.

Therapy for Men FAQ

## What men ask before their first therapy hour

I have never been to therapy. What actually happens?

You talk, Paul asks questions, and together you name what is running the show. There is no couch script and no homework you did not agree to. Most men find the first session easier than the week they spent deciding to book it.

Do I need a diagnosis to be here?

No. Plenty of men come in because something is off, not because a doctor sent them. Stress, anger, a marriage going quiet, a father who just died. That is enough of a reason.

Is this going to be about my childhood?

Only where it is useful. History explains patterns, but the work stays aimed at what you want different in your life this month.

What if the real problem turns out to be sexual?

That happens often, and it is not awkward here. We can widen the work into sex therapy without you having to start over with a new clinician.

Do you take insurance?

Sessions are out-of-network for all insurance companies. You'll receive an itemized superbill with diagnosis and billing codes to submit for reimbursement.

Are sessions in person or virtual?

Both. Telehealth is available to men anywhere in New York and Connecticut, the two states where Paul is licensed.
